Why Australia

What you actually get.

01

Post-study work rights of 2 to 3 years

The Temporary Graduate visa (Subclass 485) lets you stay and work after you finish. Degree graduates get 2 to 3 years; vocational graduates get 18 months. For most Pakistani students this is the single biggest reason to choose Australia.

02

Eight universities in the global top 100

Melbourne, Sydney, UNSW, ANU, Monash, UQ, UWA and Adelaide all rank in the world's top 100, so the degree carries weight back home and globally.

03

You can work 48 hours a fortnight

Student visa holders may work up to 48 hours per fortnight during term and unlimited hours in scheduled breaks, which offsets a real share of living costs.

04

A clear study to work to PR pathway

Study, then a 485 graduate visa, then employer sponsorship or skilled migration. The route exists and is well travelled.

We show ranges, not single figures. Tuition varies by institution and course, and the PKR rate moves. Anyone quoting you one exact number is guessing. On your free consultation we give you a written breakdown for your exact course.

The catch: Australia has one of the highest minimum wages in the world, and the unlimited hours during breaks are what make the numbers work. But you still have to evidence the full living-cost figure before the visa is granted. Earnings reduce what you burn, not what you must show.

Gold is tuition. The rest is living costs.

Australia figures last verified 20 August 2026. Government charges and evidenced-funds thresholds are revised on fixed dates and several moved twice this year, so confirm the current figure before you transfer any money.

After you graduate

The Temporary Graduate visa (Subclass 485) gives 2 to 3 years of full work rights after a degree, and longer for some qualifications and regional study.

This is the reason most students from Pakistan pick one country over another. It is worth getting right on the first attempt.

Questions

What students from Pakistan actually ask.

How much does it cost to study in Australia from Pakistan?

For most courses, budget PKR 5.9M to 9.4M a year in tuition, which is where the majority of Australian universities actually sit. Group of Eight, MBA and medical courses run well above that. On top of that you must evidence the Department's living-cost figure, currently AUD 29,710 a year. Vocational courses are the cheapest entry route. We give you a written breakdown for your exact course on the free consultation.

What IELTS score do I need for an Australian student visa?

Universities usually ask for IELTS 6.5 overall with no band below 6.0, or PTE Academic around 58 to 65. Vocational courses can accept IELTS 5.5. The visa itself has its own English threshold, and your course requirement is normally the higher of the two.

Can I work while studying in Australia?

Yes. Student visa holders can work up to 48 hours per fortnight while your course is in session and unlimited hours during scheduled course breaks.

Can I stay in Australia after I graduate?

Yes. The Temporary Graduate visa (Subclass 485) lets degree graduates stay and work for 2 to 3 years, and vocational graduates for 18 months, with longer periods for study in regional areas. The application charge rose to AUD 5,750 on 1 July 2026.

What are the intakes for Australian universities?

The main intakes are February and July, with a smaller November intake at some providers. Apply around 6 to 9 months ahead, because the CoE and visa processing both take time.

Can I bring my spouse or family?

Student visa holders can include eligible family members on the application, but you must evidence additional funds for each dependant. Rules differ by course level, so confirm your specific case with a registered migration agent.
